Chronic vs. Acute Disorders

Chronic vs. Acute Treatment

Homeopathy frequently resolves conditions that conventional medicine cannot cure. Rather than medicating for life, homeopathic treatment often completely eliminates common chronic disorders- meaning treatment can be discontinued and the old symptoms will not return. Studies have found a more than 80% improvement rate in British and German hospitals where homeopathic treatment is used. Rather than constituting a “catastrophic expense,” homeopathic constitutional treatment is a life-time investment in one’s health.

Homeopathy can heal both acute and chronic conditions

Acute conditions are of rapid onset and progression, and often, of relatively short duration - from a few hours to several weeks. They commonly have “intense” symptoms, and may be life-threatening. They usually have an identifiable cause that may be unrelated to your ongoing health complaints, or may constitute an acute exacerbation of a long-standing chronic disorder. Without treatment, acute conditions (usually) sooner or later resolve themselves, either by spontaneous improvement, or by death. In many cases, they may leave residual, left-over disorders that become chronic (“never been well since…”) complaints.

Examples of acute conditions are: Toothaches, appendicitis, cold, flu, food poisoning, bone fracture, hypothermia, anaphylactic shock, heart attack, stroke, nervous breakdown, acute leukemia, accidents, etc.

Chronic disorders are long-standing complaints, mostly persisting longer than three months. Their symptoms may be moderately severe or they may go entirely unnoticed for years. They may have a hereditary basis, or may be caused by improper treatment of acute conditions or other chronic disorders. They can also be caused by environmental toxins, harmful dental treatments, conventional drug side-effects, occupational exposures, long-standing emotional conditions, and many other causes. Chronic conditions usually don’t resolve themselves on their own and often become progressively worse. Without treatment they may substantially reduce your quality of life and your life-expectancy, and they may even be life-threatening in a predicable period of time (“you have X-number of months to live…”).

Examples of chronic disorders are: Asthma, depression, schizophrenia, insomnia, constipation, recurrent infections, rashes/warts/skin tags, arthritis, hyper- or hypothyroid, high blood pressure, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cancers, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, etc.
